At UWC, we know that talent exists in every corner of the world – but access to opportunity does not.
The Davis-UWC Dare to Dream programme is changing that. With full scholarships for students facing financial hardship, it empowers promising young people from underrepresented backgrounds to access a world-class UWC education – and futures they may never have imagined possible.
Founded by UWC patron Shelby Davis, his wife Gale Davis, and Phil Geier, Dare to Dream has already enabled more than 1,000 students from over 150 countries to attend one of UWC’s 18 schools and colleges.
But Dare to Dream is more than scholarship funding — it’s a catalyst for change. By supporting this initiative, you help shape the next generation of leaders committed to peace, sustainability and intercultural understanding.
Dare to Dream key milestones
- 2018 Dare to Dream launched, supporting 100 students per year on full scholarships
- 2021 Dare to Dream 2 introduced – support increased to 200 students per year, with a new full scholarship match model for donors
- Since 2023 Over 70 donors – including philanthropists, alumni, friends, institutions and giving circles – have supported students through the match scheme
- 2024 Shelby Davis increases match funding, expanding the programme to support up to 350 students per year and creating more opportunities for donor involvement.
