A sunken wetland area deliberately planted to enhance biodiversity and provide and area for exploration and education on campus.
Designed as part of Singapore’s flood prevention strategy, this area serves as a water catchment and holding area in times of heavy rain. In normal weather, the condensation runoff from the air conditioning system provides a steady trickle of water to support this wetland environment.
A dedicated group of students and adults spent their Tuesday afternoon working on one of the most used trails at Pearson.
As part of our social service Esperienza Carsolina we managed to take some children from the local primary school kayaking.
In spring 2023, UWC RBC students helped a local biodiversity conservation NGO to protect amphibians – frogs, toads and newts – migrating from the forest where they live to the lake where they spawn (lay eggs).
