Beach clean up

Beach clean up

A group of 44 students from UWC Adriatic in collaboration with an organisation from Lignano Sabbiadoro (about 1h away from our College) worked on a beach clean up activity on Sunday 24 March 2024.

Lignano is a fairly touristy area in our region and the objective was to clean the woodland and the beach from litter and macro-plastics. On our way there, we did a little quiz on recycling, talked about micro plastics and how dangerous and damaging they are for our planet: from natural ecosystems to animals, from human health to the food chain.

After sharing lunch together and dancing to some music performed by a great local band, we enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor activities on the beach. Playing dodgeball and volleyball were a highlight for many participants. We were blessed by good weather and we were able to go for a rather chilly swim!
