Embodying Earth Junior: Learning for a Regenerative Future is a five-day residential short course in Đồng Nai, Việt Nam for 12–14-year-olds who care about our planet and its human and “more-than-human” residents. The theme, “Learning for a Regenerative Future,” invites participants to step out of their usual routines and into forests, rivers, and a living ecological community to explore what it means to live a good life while caring for Earth and one another.

The course is designed with three interwoven aims: to deepen young people’s connection with nature, to build their intercultural and teamwork skills, and to help them practise real-world problem-solving and everyday climate action. Students live at the Nui Tuong Ecological Community, learning alongside experienced facilitators and local partners. Each day blends outdoor exploration, storytelling, reflection, and creative projects rather than classroom-style lectures.

Participants journey to Cát Tiên National Park for a “deep time” walk through ancient forest, learn how local communities care for land and water, and take part in sharing circles, group games, and evening gatherings that foster confidence and friendship. Throughout the week, they are encouraged to connect scientific understanding with emotions, values, and ethical choices.

By the end of Embodying Earth Junior, participants can expect to feel more at home in nature, more confident collaborating and speaking in diverse groups, and more equipped with concrete habits for living kindly and sustainably. The course is intentionally small and closely supervised so that middle school students remain safe, supported, and fully engaged from arrival to farewell.
