Vegetarian Fridays & the urge to reduce meat consumption

Introduced in 2019, Vegetarian Fridays aims at diversifying and improving our diet from both an environmental and medical perspective. At Adriatic, we have been talking a lot about the importance of having a healthy and balanced diet, to ensure we all eat enough vitamins, minerals, fibres, and protein.

Having an entirely plant-based diet is a hot topic of debate at the moment – while we do not want to restrict anyone’s choices, we believe it is important to recognise that the planet cannot support billions of large meat eaters and that it is necessary for us to change our habits and reduce our meat consumption. For this reason, we are trying to increase the vegetarian dishes and days in our school.
