Fridays for Future

Fridays for Future

UWC Adriatic students frequently engage in activism related to sustainability including participating in the Fridays for Future, a school strike initiative established by activist Greta Thunberg.

Every year the students take part in a public protest, usually in the neighbouring city of Trieste, to demonstrate and protest for governments, organisations and individuals to do more to protect our planet and prevent the climate crisis. Each Friday of the school year, a vegetarian-only menu is served in our College’s Mensa to help promote and encourage a reduction in meat eating. Other climate issues are usually brought to the community on Fridays to keep with the continuous reminder to support climate activism.
