Our mission is to make education a force for unity and change – and that means expanding access for those who have been historically excluded.

In our Empowering Women at UWC brochure, we explore how a UWC education supports young people of all genders to challenge stereotypes, overcome systemic barriers and grow into leaders in their communities and beyond.

We also share stories of students and alumni who identify as women and who are using their education to drive progress in fields ranging from environmental justice to public health and gender equality.

UWC offers an education that prioritises ethical leadership, community service and deep engagement with cultural and social difference – including gender equality.

This opportunity is offered to all young people, regardless of their gender identity or background. With nearly 80% of UWC students receiving full or partial support, we are proud to welcome students from diverse backgrounds who have the drive and potential to make a difference.

Women and girls have consistently made up more than 55% of our student community. Across UWC schools and beyond, they continue to lead and inspire others – from founding NGOs and leading student initiatives to serving as role models within their home communities.

Donations and grants help us expand initiatives that promote gender equity and support students who identify as women or girls. Your contribution helps provide scholarships, leadership opportunities and access to education for young people who are ready to create change.
