From vegetarian Fridays to a vegetarian policy

From vegetarian Fridays to a vegetarian policy

A follow up article to the one we wrote in Fall 2023 about the urge to reduce meat consumption.

At UWC Adriatic we are shifting from considering sustainability a mere personal choice and responsibility. Sometimes bigger changes are necessary to raise awareness and understanding about the severity of the climate crisis and the importance of protecting our natural environment. Our student sustainability council (SUSCO) did a great job at presenting a compelling argument to increase our vegetarian days to twice a week: we looked at the issue from both a nutritional and an environmental perspective, with data and statistics to really get people to think!

Here is the presentation and activities that we used during a focus evening where we explained the rationale behind our decision. Even the most committed meat eaters had to admit that SUSCO had a point!
